Restoration Volunteers Honored
Placerville - The Center for Sierra Nevada Conservation honored 30 volunteers at a dinner at Spanky’s Pizza in Placerville on Friday, December 11. The volunteers have donated 496 hours and restored 11 acres of Eldorado National Forest lands, from Hope Valley to Rock Creek, since August. CSNC is a local non-profit conservation organization, founded in 1985, which cooperates with the Eldorado National Forest to monitor and repair damage to watersheds from irresponsible use or vandalism. CSNC hosts volunteer-based restoration events that include forest trash clean up, repairing damage from illegal vehicle use, planting native species, and removal of noxious weeds.
