In a great showing of unified community spirit, a total of almost $45,000 was raised by generous donations from donors throughout the community whose generosity was supplemented by a county-wide "Fill the Boot" campaign and Raindance, a music festival fundraiser held in Camino for the aid victims of September's King Fire.
El Dorado County stood tall and came together to support the property owners who were affected by the King Fire," said Lauren Murphy, one of the Raindance festival organizers. "We want to ensure that these funds get distributed before the holidays as people contemplate rebuilding their hones and their lives."

Placerville Main Library is busier than ever, checking out nearly 300,000 items last year—yet funds for new books and other vital materials continue to dwindle.
In the face of this dilemma, the Friends of the Library–Placerville Chapter has launched a “Fill Our Shelves” campaign to raise some of this much-needed funding from the community. An initial targeted mailing went out Nov. 3 and brochures and information are available now at the library, which is located at 345 Fair Lane, Placerville.
