Cancer Patient Transport Vehicle Vandalized

marshall joomlaA cancer patient transport vehicle, donated by Thompsons Buick GMC to the Marshall Medical Center, was vandalized over the weekend.

According to Dana Wardell, the service advisor at Thompsons Buick GMC where it was taken for repairs, the criminal drilled a hole into the gas tank. Presumably, the thief took off with its gas and left what was remaining to spill out onto the concrete below.


70th John M. Studebaker Wheelbarrow Race - Wheelbarrow Racers Needed!

Placerville Kiwanis is accepting applications for all racers in the 70th annual John M. Studebaker Wheelbarrow Races to be held Saturday, June 14th during the 2014 El Dorado County Fair in Placerville. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the fair's grandstands and challenges men, women, teens and children to muscle a wheelbarrow loaded with "gold" over the treacherous Gold Rush field of obstacles and challenges. The winner of the Championship races will receive $1,000.00 cash prize, and now $1,000.00 cash is at stake in the woman's race.


New Faith-based Childcare Center to Open in Pollock Pines - Open House Opportunity

fulloflovepreschoolAfter nearly a decade of providing loving childcare in her home, Monica Hobbs of Pollock Pines is finally seeing a dream come true: opening a faith-based, full-fledged childcare center and preschool that offers short-term scholarships on the property of the church she attends, Christian Life Center, also in Pollock Pines. Children aged two through kindergarten are eligible for enrollment. 

"The children of our community deserve a top-notch educational and loving start, and one that instills values and a sense of community spirit and humility," Monica says, "I've been blessed to care for many children over the years, and this is just taking it up a level, and I can't wait to open on June 2." Monica, as the new center's director, will oversee a diverse curriculum to include academic readiness, art, music, faith and community involvement.

Your Health is a new series produced by Foothill 7 Television and Marshall Medical Center that is currently airing on Comcast Channel 7 in El Dorado County and on the web in both on demand and live streaming formats at www.foothill7tv.com.

Your Health is a series of stories about health, wellness and leading-edge medical technology available in El Dorado County. Your Health features local physicians and medical experts as well as real-life patient stories. A range of shows – from hearing loss and robotic-assisted surgery, to a tour of Marshall's new birth center and amenities for parents to be – there is a wealth of good information for varied interests.
